On your daily walks, have you noticed God’s beautiful creation?
The buds are turning in their leaves, birds are singing, building their nests and flowers are coming into bloom even as the world is engulfed in the Covid-19 pandemic. The season of spring appears. Have you ever thought about how each season comes about every year? Is there a God who created everything and controls nature? Look at how Jesus had power over nature when he calmed the storm in Mark 4v35-41.
The Bible tells us about a God who loves us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus to die on the cross to take away our sins. (John 3v16). Sin has separated us from God and that gap is bridged when we ask for forgiveness of sins through Jesus’ death and resurrection. John 14 v 1-6 tells us that Jesus is the only Way to heaven. So belief in God is not only for this present life but there is assurance of a home in heaven when death comes. When people trust in Jesus as their Saviour their lives change. Please read the story of the jailer in Philippi who trusted in Jesus and his life changed (Acts 16 v 25-40). Belief and trusting in Jesus brings peace with God (Romans 5:1).
Are you content with your life? Do you think contentment is the same as happiness?
As belief and living with and for God changes our daily lives, we are given joy and contentment through the promises given – read Philippians 4 v 4-7. Being content is not the same as being happy. The apostle Paul talks about being content in every situation in Philippians 4 v 11-13.There are many testing circumstances we have to face in life, the current lock down being one of them, which many are unhappy with, but we must learn to be content until circumstances change.
Are you social distancing from God?
This is a new phrase which has arisen with the worldwide fight against coronavirus. Everyone is aware that they cannot come any closer than 2 metres to someone else however God is always at hand. He always hears our prayers and is the one we can turn to with our every need, Isaiah 41 v 10.
What is your experience of living through Covid-19?
Having time at home has given people the opportunity to enjoy family time, learn new skills and relax but for some it is an extremely anxious time. Why not use this time to read the Bible, learn about who God is and the amazing gift He gave to us – eternal life in heaven through His son Jesus.
